The Egyptian Revival shapes acknowledge Egypt’s profound dominance over the region and its cultural influence on its subjects. The Deco-style fluting pays homage to the grand columns found at the National Museum of Beirut — itself a notable Egyptian Revival structure that underscores this overlap.
