Neutral Ground - Sidi Kaouki Rug

Based in Brooklyn, United States
Neutral Ground is a collection that bridges artful design with simplicity, offering warmth and balance to your space. Rooted in traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, each rug represents a harmonious blend of heritage and modernity. Drawing from the serene landscapes and picturesque cities of Morocco, these rugs create timeless spaces that evoke a nurturing, grounded atmosphere rich in legacy.
This rug was woven by the artisans of M’rirt, a village in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Led by Soukina, a second-generation artisan, this group of 40 weavers continues the tradition founded by her late mother, Keltouma, in the early 2000s. The artisans specialize in medium to high hand-knot rugs, a style distinctive to the region, known for its thick knotting technique that creates an extra-plush texture.
Made from 100% “live” wool, dyed using the finest ingredients by a third-generation dyeing family. This process ensures not only rich colors but also sustainability and quality in every piece.
Each rug is crafted entirely by hand, which means there may be small variations in pattern, color, and size (up to 10 cm / 4” variation) due to the organic nature of the materials. Salam Hello strives to capture the details and colors as accurately as possible so you know exactly what to expect.
