Calico sought to capture this ephemeral beauty by working directly with nature’s materials. Using abalone shells and coral fragments, they created intricate, hand-assembled collages, layering organic textures and iridescent forms to reflect the delicate artistry of the sea. Transformed into wallpaper, these compositions preserve the movement and luminosity of their natural origins, embodying the poetry of the ocean—shells cradled in the palm, coral shifting with the currents, driftwood, seafoam, and the quiet shimmer hidden within an oyster’s depths.
